About the role

Select Genetics is the leading supplier of poults and eggs to growers and companies across the world, with operations in eight US States. As a General Farm Laborer, you will assist the Grow Farm Manager in daily chores associated with farm operations, ensuring the health and wellbeing of turkeys while maintaining farm facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
• Work productively in a team environment and assist in any area to complete tasks efficiently.
• Sanitize and disinfect turkey production facilities and equipment using various tools and protocols.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment as directed by the Farm Manager.
• Ensure proper feeding and watering needs are met for the turkeys on the farm.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Conduct daily walk-throughs to check bait traps and dispose of dead vermin.
• Check for dead birds consistently throughout the day in all barns and follow protocols for removal or quarantine of sick turkeys.
• Work with a variety of tools and equipment, including tasks requiring pushing, bending, stooping, squatting, pulling, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
• Perform duties while exposed to dust, cold, humidity, heat, chemicals, and fumes.
• Work extended hours if needed.
• Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Farm Manager.
