General Factory

About the Role

Assembles, packs, loads, fabricates parts, and/or unloads materials in a factory setting.

Responsibilities

• Wraps, bales, packages, operates presses, and performs housekeeping tasks.
• Reads and understands work orders to accurately apply adhesive, assemble, and pack fabricated parts according to customer specifications.
• Follows written and/or verbal instructions regarding customer specifications.
• Verifies conformance to specifications using a tape measure.
• Follows direction from Group Leads.
• Maintains daily 5S in the general area of responsibility.
• Adheres to 5S and safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Able to stand and walk for 8 hours.
• Able to read measuring devices.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to communicate effectively, including presenting information, comprehending detailed instructions, and reading/writing correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense practices to carry out detailed oral or written instructions.
• Ability to handle problems involving multiple variables in continuously changing situations.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye protection on the production floor and hearing protection in designated areas.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Exposed to moderate to loud noise levels in the work environment.
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from moderate to high depending on the time of year and location of work.
