General Facility Manager

About the Role

This is a highly visible position that could quickly lead to a General Management position of the entire company at an established and growing machine tool spindle repair company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all functions of the service facility.
• Supervise and mentor Repair Technicians as direct reports.
• Coordinate with Midwest Service Center to balance workload and direct repairs to the facility that can perform the repair most efficiently.
• Support Sales with guidance and technical expertise to answer questions and provide cost and schedule estimates.
• Provide guidance on spindle cause of failure and potential improvements.
• Review and finalize spindle evaluation reports—determine repair costs of both purchased components and repair labor to formulate quotes.
• Schedule and assign spindle repairs to Repair Technicians in keeping with their experience and proficiency.
• Review and evaluate Final Repair Reports and spindle repairs to ensure all work meets standards and the spindle will perform for the customer.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge of super precision rolling element bearing application in high-speed rotating equipment (highly desired).
• Specific experience in machine tool service or machining/grinding (highly desired).
• Strong ethical/moral character and internally motivated.
• A mechanical or electromechanical background with experience performing engineering calculations of rotating equipment machine elements.
• Proficiency in super precision rolling element bearing engineering and application.
• Experience in bearing and mechanical component failure analysis.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Well organized and committed to excellence.
• A team player committed to customer service and adding value.
