About the role

As a General Manager, you will plan, manage, and guide multiple contracted services for a client generating $2–15M+ in revenue to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs. Depending on the client, services can include food service, facility support, custodial services, retail, lodging, transportation, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct frontline associates and vendors within a mid-large Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all contract obligations, including site-level KPIs, Statements of Work (SOWs), response times, and customer Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) metrics.
  • Demonstrate a relentless commitment to safety excellence, fostering a culture where every team member is empowered to achieve a work environment without exposures or incidents.
  • Create a positive employee work environment and inspire teamwork and partnership at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Oversee all site utility systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, energy management, fire safety, life safety, and grounds.
  • Manage vendors to drive operational efficiencies, labor/scheduling productivity, and control labor, supply, and inventory costs.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure high levels of execution and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and business relationships with client site leadership, including participation in Monthly and Quarterly Client Business Reviews (CBRs).
  • Hire, train, develop, and manage the performance of frontline associates to ensure high performance, optimal staffing, and employee engagement.
  • Use the EcoBPM CMMS system to support operations and manage/close work orders within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain and use capital equipment efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with Aramark Facilities Management standards, programs, and all OSHA, regulatory agency, and local, state, and federal government regulations.

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet business commitments.

Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a facilities management site-level leadership role.
  • 3–5 years of experience managing hourly and salaried employees.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Profit and loss (P&L) experience required.
  • Previous experience in business & industry, life sciences, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) operations and maintenance (O&M) standards and procedures, as well as facility-related equipment such as boilers, chillers, generators, and HVAC/R.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in developing maintenance strategies and O&M capital planning strategies is preferred.
  • For manufacturing environments, experience working in an environment requiring Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and high-level safety standards, protocols, and procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Facilities Management Certification such as Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Physical Demands

  • This role may require physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
  • May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
