General Education Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Dobbs Ferry School District seeks a General Education Teaching Assistant at Springhurst Elementary School, effective August 31, 2026. This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher.
• Aid in the development of educational material.
• Lead or assist in various activities as assigned.

Requirements

• NYSED Level I Teaching Assistant certification.

Qualifications

• Salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with the CSEA Clerical, Teacher Aide/Teaching Assistant contract.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, and sit.
• Climb, squat, stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Reach above the head and reach forward.
• Use hands and fingers to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Talk and hear.
• Lift and/or push up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Benefits

The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE legislation effective July 1, 2001.

Pay

$28,550.00 - $39,505.00 (Annual wage per contract CSEA Clerical, Teaching Assistant/Teacher Aide)

Schedule

Full-time, probationary, tenure-track position starting August 31, 2026.
