General Education Paraprofessional

The Role

This position supports the mission of the charter school to foster a love of learning, address the whole child, and provide a world-class education.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction under the direction of certified teachers
• Assist in addressing the needs of the whole child
• Work collaboratively with other paraprofessionals and staff
• Participate in professional development opportunities

Requirements

• Pass the PRAXIS exam, or hold an associate's degree (or equivalent credits towards a bachelor's degree)
• Work under the direction of a certified teacher
• Preference may be given to those with previous teaching experience

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Pass a background check in accordance with Utah's Department of Public Safety requirements

Skills

• Knowledge of Utah State Core Curriculum
• Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching methodology

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
