Position Overview
This is a unique opportunity offering flexible scheduling—ideal for an experienced provider seeking a half-time, every-other-month schedule, or for a full-time new graduate looking to grow alongside an experienced dentist in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and emergency dental services, including exams, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Perform general restorative procedures, crown and bridge work, removable prosthetics, and uncomplicated endodontics and oral surgery
- Prescribe and interpret radiographs and administer appropriate anesthetics and medications
- Educate patients and families on oral health and preventative care
- Refer patients to specialists as needed and ensure continuity of care
- Supervise and collaborate with the dental hygienist and assistants
- Participate in quality improvement efforts, including chart audits and workflow optimization
- Engage in community outreach and oral health education initiatives
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD from an ADAaccredited program
- Active, unrestricted Virginia dental license (or ability to obtain)
- CURRENT BLS certification
- Strong clinical skills with a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in rural health and serving a diverse patient population
