About the role
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for General Dentist, Assistant/Associate/Professor in Residence, Department of Clinical Sciences, School of Dental Medicine [R0134904]. Successful candidates will provide comprehensive clinical supervision, oversight, and instruction in the delivery of safe, ethical, and evidence-based patient care by students enrolled in the DMD/DDS predoctoral dental program.
Responsibilities
- Providing chairside supervision to predoctoral dental students in UNLV SDM clinics
- Teaching preclinical, simulation, and clinical general dentistry courses
- Developing, updating, and delivering didactic content, including lectures, seminars, and small-group instruction
- Ensuring integration of contemporary science, clinical innovation, and digital dentistry technologies into educational activities
- Contributing to student assessment, competency evaluations, remediation, and academic support
- Maintaining compliance with CODA standards, OSHA, HIPAA, quality assurance, and institutional policies
- Serving as a professional mentor and role model, demonstrating exemplary clinical skills, professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care
Requirements
- DDS or DMD degree from a CODA-accredited dental school (or equivalent foreign dental degree with appropriate U.S.-based credentialing)
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Nevada
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical practice experience in general dentistry OR completion of a GPR/AEGD residency
- Demonstrated experience teaching, supervising, or mentoring dental students, dental residents, or dental teams
- Eligibility to work in the United States

- Strong community orientation, including participation in community outreach, service-learning programs, and other SDM community initiatives
- Engagement in scholarship or research is encouraged and supported
- Service on school and university committees, participation in accreditation and quality-improvement processes, and engagement in faculty development activities
- Optional component includes the ability to maintain and advance clinical skills by treating patients within the UNLV Faculty Dental Practice, in accordance with faculty practice policies

Pay
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions - contingent upon funding.
Schedule
Works Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm at the Shadow Lane Campus.
