General Counsel
The General Counsel at Eastern Illinois University seeks a part-time professional with an earned J.D., at least five years of experience in higher education, and membership in the Illinois bar or ability to obtain one post-appointment.
About the role
The position involves managing contracts, adhering to Illinois procurement rules, handling collective bargaining agreements, and labor law issues. It also entails working closely with the senior leadership team and attending Board of Trustees meetings and retreats to ensure compliance with board regulations and the State of Illinois Open Meetings Act. Experience with board relations is preferred.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,174.88
The position is hybrid with required on-campus availability and attendance at Board of Trustees meetings and retreats.
