General Counsel
About the role
Campers Inn RV is hiring its first General Counsel to build the legal function from scratch. This is a working attorney's job, taking on all legal matters currently handled by outside firms.
Responsibilities
Own the litigation portfolio. Run consumer and commercial matters across 20 states, registering as in-house counsel where required and directing local counsel of record for filings and court appearances.
Settle smart. Negotiate customer, vendor, employment, and commercial disputes personally, preferring practical resolutions over courtroom battles.
Work the coverage. Tender litigated matters to carriers and pursue defense cost recovery.
Control outside spend. Pick firms, scope engagements, set billing standards, and manage legal spend against a hard target.
Paper the business. Review and negotiate commercial agreements, dealer and vendor contracts, and real estate transactions.
Support the deals. Work alongside leadership and outside deal counsel on acquisitions and corporate transactions.
Back up HR. Advise on employment law, investigations, policy, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, and wage and hour questions.
Keep the house in order. Handle corporate governance, entity management, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
