General Counsel

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company's sole legal leader, building and developing the legal function.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on key business, legal and strategic initiatives.
• Provide counsel on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including employee relations, workplace investigations, terminations, policy development, performance management, and employment law compliance.
• Advises on healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including federal and state healthcare laws, privacy concerns, and operational risk management.
• Manage litigation, including strategy development, coordination with outside counsel, and oversight of case progress.
• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and vendor contracts.
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, Compliance, Operations and executive leadership to mitigate risk and drive business objectives.
• Support corporate governance, risk management, and strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions and business expansion efforts.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor
• Active member of the State Bar of California
• 5+ years of experience
• Strong background in labor and employment law
• Previous experience advising on healthcare regulatory matters
• Proven ability to build processes, develop legal infrastructure, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong written, organizational and verbal communication skills.
