ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Use a germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and check soap and paper dispensers, empty trash cans, and clean toilets.
• Bathroom Cleaning (continued): Wipe down above and below sinks, toilet seats, and bowls.
• Bathroom Cleaning (continued): Clean the inside of the toilet bowl with a Johnnie Mop and proper solution.
• Bathroom Cleaning (continued): Check and refill soap and paper dispensers daily.
• Floors: Dust mop and vacuum using a treated dust mophead and counter brush.
• Floors (continued): Dispose of dust and mop heads into the service cart.
• Floors (continued): Empty and clean trash cans, including ash urns and trash cans.
• Outside Areas: Clean and check sidewalks, flower beds, and curb line for trash and cigarette butts.
• Outside Areas (continued): Spot clean spills on sidewalks, remove gum with a scraper, and wipe benches, vending machines, and lower window ledges.
• Outside Areas (continued): Clean public area glass as necessary and police parking lots for trash.
• Common Areas: Dust mop and spot mop main hallways, checking planters for cleanliness and cobwebs.
• Food Court: Clean, remove trash, and sanitize tables; empty and clean trash cans; stack clean trays for recycled use.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock lightly on doors before entering, be friendly and courteous, answer questions, and report issues to supervisor.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned or directed by supervisor, such as floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition suitable for assigned duties, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, fingering, and overhead reaching.
