General Cleaner Macys State St, Chicago 25 hrs/week 6am-11am 5 days/week

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height in a counter-clockwise direction.
• Sanitizing/Spot Cleaning: Using a germicidal solution, clean surfaces below shoulder height in a counter-clockwise direction.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Wipe down surfaces in a specific order, including soap and paper dispenser checks and refills.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Dust mop and vacuum rooms, paying special attention to under furniture and behind doors.
• Grounds Care: Clean and check outside areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, and parking lots.
• Food Court: Clean tables, sanitize, and empty trash cans; also spot clean for spills.
• Floor Sanitizing: Use a germicidal solution to sanitize floors, starting at the back of the room and working towards the door.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock on doors before entering, answer questions courteously, and report issues to supervisor.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned, such as floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Physical requirements: walking, standing, sitting, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, fingering, reaching overhead, sight, depth perception, hand-eye coordination.
