General Cleaner

About the role

IFS is the union affiliate of KBS, the largest private provider of facility services in North America. We are seeking a General Cleaner to join our Cleaning Services team. Schedule

Responsibilities

• Perform work according to standard procedure and building operational schedule
• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and windows
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors throughout the sales floor and seating area
• Periodically check trash containers, emptying them when necessary, in all site areas
• Collect, consolidate, and separate recyclables into appropriate containers
• Clean windows and mirrored surfaces; polish stainless steel surfaces
• Dust fixtures, shelves, furniture, and equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of customer and team member restrooms (includes cleaning and monitoring as needed)
• Complete sweep logs as instructed
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and thresholds
• Report daily to supervisor on work performed, either orally or through written work order
• Perform other cleaning tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Lift and move containers up to 49 pounds each
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing between 15 and 25 pounds
• Bend, lift, stretch, and reach for objects regularly, both below waist and above head
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled carts loaded with products up to 100 pounds
• Develop full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
• Stand and walk within and around the facility with high frequency for up to 10–12 hours
• Ability to safely climb ladders and walkways without limitations
• Background check and drug test required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and chemical safe handling sheets/documents (generally in English; may be available in Spanish where required by state law)
