ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush into service cart.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Removing Germs: Clean doorknobs, walls, and windows using proper solutions.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Wipe down surfaces with germicidal solution, paying attention to the rim of the toilet bowl.
• Refilling Soap Dispensers: Check and refill soap and paper dispensers daily.
• Emptying Trash Cans: Remove liners and wipe trash cans; replace with new liners.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Dust mop and vacuum using the "S" stroke, ensuring to clean under furniture and behind doors.
• Grounds Care: Clean and check outside areas multiple times a day, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, and curb lines.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock on doors before entering, be friendly and answer questions courteously, report issues to supervisor.
• Work Quietly: Reduce noise and stay in assigned area unless directed otherwise.
• Maintain Personal Appearance: Keep clean and neat appearance.
• Perform Other Duties: May include floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing, as directed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Communication skills to interact with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate and interpret instructions for cleaning chemicals.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties, including lifting, carrying, walking, standing, sitting, operating equipment, and reaching.
