Responsibilities

• High dust surfaces above shoulder height (lights above doors, curtain tips, vents, ledges) using a treated high duster, moving counter‑clockwise.
• Clean the high duster by gently brushing downward into the service cart.
• Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height (ledges, chairs, telephone, countertops, trashcans) with a germicidal solution, moving counter‑clockwise.
• Remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls using proper solution.
• Spot clean windows using proper solution.
• Bathroom cleaning: wipe down above and below sink, toilet seat and outside of toilet bowl with germicidal solution.
• Clean inside of toilet bowl with a Johnnie Mop and proper germicidal solution, paying attention to the rim.
• Clean and check soap and paper dispensers daily; refill as needed.
• Empty trash cans: if liquid inside, remove liner and wipe can; place a clean liner.
• Floor dusting/vacuuming: using a treated dust mophead, start at the back of the room with an “S” stroke to catch dust on the leading edge; dust under all furniture and in the restroom stopping just inside the door.
• Clean the mophead with a counter brush using a downward stroke, sweep dust onto a dustpan and dispose into the service cart.
• When vacuuming, start at the back of the room and work toward the door, getting under chairs and other furniture.
• Grounds care – outside areas: clean and check several times per day; empty and clean ash urns and trash cans; police sidewalks, flower beds and curb line for trash and cigarette butts; spot
