ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush into service cart.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Using proper solution to clean doorknobs, walls, and windows.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean toilets, sinks, and other surfaces.
• Emptying and checking soap and paper dispensers.
• Refilling dispensers as needed.
• Wiping down ash urns and trash cans.
• Policing sidewalks, flower beds, and curb line for trash and cigarette butts.
• Spot cleaning spills on sidewalks.
• Removing gum with a scraper and wiping down benches, vending machines, and lower window ledges.
• High dusting for dust and cobwebs in public areas.
• Mopping floors and vacuuming using a treated dust mophead and counter brush.
• Checking corners and edges for dirt, cobwebs, and foreign debris.
• Cleaning food court tables, emptying and cleaning trash cans, and washing trays.
• Floor Sanitizing: Use proper germicidal solution to sanitize the floor.
• Inspection: Review cleaning steps and visually check furniture placement.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock on doors before entering, answer questions courteously, and report issues to supervisor.
• Work quietly and stay in assigned area unless directed otherwise.
• Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Physical condition suitable for assigned duties including walking, standing, sitting, lifting/carrying, operating equipment, reaching, grasping, and using hand and power tools.
