ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height in a counter-clockwise direction.
• Sanitizing/Spot Cleaning: Using a germicidal solution, clean surfaces below shoulder height in a counter-clockwise direction, including ledges, chairs, telephone, countertops, and trashcans.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Using a germicidal solution, clean above and below sinks, toilet seats, and bowls, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers daily.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Using a treated dust mophead, clean floors using the "S" stroke, and vacuum starting at the back of the room and working toward the door.
• Trash Can Management: Empty and clean trash cans, removing liners and disposing of dust, and refilling as needed.
• Outside Grounds Care: Clean and check sidewalks, flower beds, and curb lines for trash and cigarette butts, and spot clean spills and remove gum.
• Food Court Cleaning: Clean tables, sanitize, and empty trash cans; stack clean trays for recycling; and police outside eating areas.
• Floor Sanitizing: Using a germicidal solution, sanitize floors starting at the back of the room, mopping under furniture and behind doors as you back out.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock lightly on doors before entering, be friendly and answer questions in a helpful manner, report issues to supervisor, and maintain a clean appearance.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned or directed by supervisor, such as floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition suitable for assigned duties, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting/carrying, operating equipment, reaching, and bending.
