Overview
The OSF Cardiovascular Institute, a group of 40 plus Cardiologists serving the Midwest, seeks to add a General Cardiologist to their expanding practice. Ideal candidates will have an academic background in Cardiovascular Disease and enjoy teaching future cardiologists.
Job Specifics
The OSF Cardiovascular Service Line collaborates with 17 area hospitals and 9 clinics to offer comprehensive services for heart disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. This includes over 300 STEMI cases annually, CV surgery, MCS, Transplant, Aortic Center, Structural Heart, Advanced HF, Cardio One, Cardio OB, and more. Coverage involves OSF Saint Francis Heart Hospital, established in 1990, with a patient catchment area of 1.2 million people. The hospital reads and interprets over 15,000 echos and 4,500 stress tests per year. OSF also operates their own helicopter services.

Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- Licensed to practice medicine in the current state
- Board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Medical staff membership and appropriate privileges
- Eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs
- Must meet all qualifications for professional malpractice and liability coverage
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable
- Recent clinical experience as a Fellow or Attending at a large academic center
- Demonstrates the ability to align patient care with patient preferences, goals, and needs
