General Cafeteria Worker at New Hartford Public Schools

Major Responsibilities

• Prepares food which may involve basic cooking
• Serves food to students
• Cleans kitchen equipment and puts away stock / deliveries
• Fulfills assigned tasks in designated areas
• Follows all sanitation and health codes governing food preparation and personal appearance
• Works with hot ovens, sharp tools, slippery floors, and some heavy lifting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous food service helpful
• Ability to operate and care for institutional/industrial equipment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Possess good judgment
• Requires working independently and as a team

Physical Requirements

• Moves and lifts equipment weighting up to 50 pounds
• Moves throughout the school kitchen to prepare food and perform other duties
• Must be able to push and pull carts
