General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant at Hood Packaging Corporation is responsible for calculating and tracking operating costs, analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods, preparing ad-hoc summaries and variance reports, and implementing related cost accounting policies, systems, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and track operating costs such as labor, raw material, overhead, and inventory.
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods to determine the effect on costs.
• Compare factors affecting prices and productivity.
• Prepare ad-hoc summaries and variance reports.
• Implement related cost accounting policies, systems, and procedures.

Requirements

• Experience in cost accounting and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
