Responsibilities

• Conduct expert genealogical research in the United States, focusing on probate and legal research, and people finding.
• Quickly assess resource accessibility, locate sources, and communicate research feasibility.
• Write well-written research logs, reports, and regular client updates aligned with company standards.
• Maintain an average of 6 billable hours per day and meet annual billable hour targets.
• Provide and receive constructive feedback effectively.
• Collaborate with Research Managers to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' professional genealogical research experience, or a combination of 5 years' educational and professional experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in History, Family History, English, or a comparable field.
• Specialized expertise in U.S. genealogical research, particularly in heir research, forensic genealogy, modern genealogical research, and people finding/skip tracing.
• Advanced knowledge of brick wall research methodologies and evidence analysis.
• Experience in ordering and analyzing records from both physical and digital repositories.
• Comfortable with genealogical interviews and other correspondence.
• Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in creating research logs/journals, citations, abstracts, including analysis, writing narrative reports, drafting research plans, and conducting research within budget.
• Comfortable working collaboratively and providing feedback and coaching to team members.

Pay

$51,400 - $65,000 annually, with eligibility for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Schedule

Location flexible work approach, allowing employees to choose between working in the nearest office, from home, or a hybrid of both (subject to location restrictions and roles that require being in the office).
