GEN PROD FARM TECH

Overview

Aid in all aspects of farrowing and lactation, aiming to meet weekly shipping targets of full-value pigs.

Duties

• Follow proper procedures for Day-One pig care and foster piglets
• Adhere to company protocols during piglet processing
• Tend to the health and comfort of sows during farrowing
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of farrowing pens and farrowing rooms
• Keep and report accurate daily records
• Communicate openly with management about any issues, concerns, or questions
• Efficiently conserve resources and contribute to adequate staffing
• Promote cooperation and effective communication within the unit
• Perform any other duties as assigned, requested, or directed by management/supervisor

Education/Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with and caring for livestock
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Leadership skills, including the ability to lead by example and work with a team of 2-5 people
• Problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, goal-oriented approach, and teamwork
