Gemologist Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager will oversee all gemstone procurement, supply chain, and vendor management functions within the gemstone departments. They will manage relationships with partners and vendors, including developing new relationships, managing day-to-day vendor interactions, and handling escalations. The primary objectives are to maximize product selection, efficiency, quality, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of all gemstone purchases

• Responsible for supply planning, purchasing, and inventory control
• Oversee and continually improve purchasing with respect to the company’s quality, delivery and cost objectives
• Ensure product supply chain is well developed and maintained to ensure a superior customer experience, timeliness, and a high level of efficiency
• Recruit, hire, and develop a strong team to meet company objectives
• Manage teams to empower individuals and help solve day to day problems
• Communicate with sales, production, and fulfillment teams regarding inventory levels and needs
• Formulate and implement systems, policies and procedures to ensure smooth operation of business

Qualifications

• Graduate gemology degree preferred
• Industry experience in gems and diamonds required
• Experience with vendor management and supply chain / production in a product, retail or eCommerce company
• Retail experience preferred
• Robust computer skills, including working knowledge of ERP systems
• Experience leading and growing high performing teams to achieve and exceed goals
• Bachelor’s degree, preferred

Schedule

This role is based onsite in our Secaucus, NJ distribution center.

Pay

The targeted budget for this position is $80k-95k. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.
