About the role
The Assistant Manager position at Brilliant Earth supports the Procurement and Vendor Relations functions, assisting in the procurement of gemstone purchases and managing vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the procurement of all gemstone purchases.
- Support escalation management and work with vendors who share Brilliant Earth’s commitment to responsible sourcing.
- Coordinate tasks and resources to maintain strong vendor networks.
- Assist with planning and maintaining optimal inventory levels across the gemstone department.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and fulfillment teams to ensure precise inventory tracking and communication.
- Aid in recruiting, training, and developing team members.
- Empower team members to resolve day-to-day challenges and maintain high performance.
- Aid in formulating and implementing systems, policies, and procedures that drive efficient business operations.
- Ensure that procurement practices and vendor operations meet Brilliant Earth’s quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Support adherence to responsible and traceable supply chain practices aligned with high standards of social and environmental responsibility.
Qualifications
- Graduate gemology degree preferred.
- Industry experience in gems and diamonds required.
- Proven experience with vendor management, supply chain operations, or production in a product, retail, or eCommerce environment.
- Roads computer skills with a strong working knowledge of ERP systems and related software.
- Experience with team management and the ability to support the growth of high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
