Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests at every turn on or off the floor with eye contact, engaging conversation, and an outgoing demeanor.
  • Offer warm and sincere welcome/farewell to all resort guests, using guest names when possible and maintaining good eye contact.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the gelato car and surrounding seating area.
  • Manage guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, and front-of-the-house employees.
  • Practice effective listening and seek to understand guest needs.
  • Perform related duties as required, including maintaining cleanliness of the immediate work area and general property.
  • Adhere to proper grooming, dress, and uniform standards as well as safety food handling procedures.
  • Ensure assigned uniform and personal appearance are well kept and professional.
  • Be courteous to all guests and coworkers, maintaining behavior consistent with sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies.
  • Open and close POS/register, including counting tickets, balancing checks, and completing reconciliation paperwork.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of outlet inventory and fill out daily/weekly inventories of supplies.
  • Report any damaged equipment or supplies and answer guest questions about menu selections.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including equipment maintenance of refrigeration units, cleaning, packaging, and storage of food items.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, or place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Perform proper check-in/check-out procedures with the manager on duty.
  • Update management on inventory concerns, guest feedback, and completion of duties.
  • Maintain proper posture and a friendly demeanor while performing job duties; use personal devices only for work communication.
  • Assist in completing other daily tasks for the Pools Department as assigned.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual.
  • Must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to implement and uphold service standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be flexible and available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work under variable temperature conditions.
  • Ability to focus on guest needs, remain calm and courteous, and think clearly in pressure situations.
  • Ability to remain stationary at assigned post when specified.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED recommended.
  • Some college experience or degree recommended.
  • Previous host experience in a professional setting is preferred.
  • This position requires working outside in various weather conditions.
