Principle Accountabilities
- Provide in-person and online one-on-one or small-group GED instruction in one or more subject areas (Math, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, Social Studies)
- Assess students’ academic levels and tailor lessons to individual learning needs
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with GED standards to support the Aztec online learning environment
- Support students with test-taking strategies, study skills, and goal setting
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback
- Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and student performance
- Communicate professionally with program staff and students

Qualifications
- Education And Experience
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or instructional experience (especially with adult learners) preferred
- Online instruction experience required
- Knowledge of Aztec preferred
- Strong knowledge of GED subject areas (expertise in at least one required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others succeed
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with online learning tools is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work extended hours on feet and perform repetitive motions
Work Environment
This position requires the tutor to engage participants from a secure, distraction-free location when providing support to online learners. Tutors must have reliable high-speed internet access, a functioning computer, webcam, microphone, and any required software or platforms necessary for virtual tutoring.
