Gearbox Technician - Roscoe

Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble new and repaired gearboxes.
  • Disassemble geared products when necessary.
  • Accurately measure gears, shafts, housing bores for proper clearances with calibrated measuring tools.
  • Read assembly drawings.
  • Assemble shafts, gears, bearings, and lubrication systems.
  • Properly set-up gearboxes to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and other customer requirements.
  • Perform light welding.
  • Operate forklift and crane.
  • Conduct safe rigging of materials.
  • Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (i.e., automotive, diesel, heavy industrial equipment).
  • Capable of repairing large industrial equipment such as gearboxes, motors, and pumps.
  • Manual machining.
  • Welding.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • CDL is a plus.
  • Able to pass OSHA training.
  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Able to use overhead crane.
  • Experience with industrial gear drive assembly (preferred).
  • Basic machining knowledge & use of inspection equipment (preferred).
  • Basic math skill.
  • Able to read blueprints and troubleshoot problems with critical & analytical thinking.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
