GEAR-UP Student Achievement Specialist

About the Role

Coordinating the GEAR UP program for the school district and providing project direction and implementation. Position develops college awareness programs, coordinates efforts with GEAR UP partners, provides staff development, provides individual support for students and outreach to families with support in the college planning and enrollment process.

What We Offer

Salary: $26.59 - $31.33 (depending on experience). Healthcare, retirement, and vacation benefits are also provided.

Job Details

Working days: 5 days per week / 200 work days plus 10 holidays per year. Hours per day: 8. This is a temporary grant funded position until 2030.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a job-related area.
• Experience: Job-related experience is required. Minimum of three (3) years experience working in the field of college awareness/access and/or a related field preferred; Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a school-based or a college/university setting.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
