Roles and Responsibilities

  • Aid in the qualification and deployment of advanced manufacturing and repair technologies.
  • Experiment and develop automation/robotics, additive, coatings, machining, joining, tooling/fixture design and/or inspection technologies.
  • Determine tolerancing for the repair of gas turbine components utilizing empirical data analytics.
  • Support more senior engineers in identifying opportunities for reverse engineering projects and analyze and resolve Repair Non-Conformance Notifications (NCNs).
  • Help maintain, lead, and manage repair qualifications for service centers, ensuring compliance and quality control.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to address quality and process issues.
  • Engage in Kaizen initiatives to enhance efficiency and assist in maintaining and updating our engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Supply Chain locations, and Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology.
  • Establish and maintain inspection criteria for advanced gas turbine components.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience in engineering and/or manufacturing.
  • (5-10%) Travel to global engineering centers, service centers and vendor locations.

  • The required work location is Greenville, SC (relocation assistance is available).
  • Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States of America is required.

What Makes You Standout - Desired Characteristics

  • Experience performing hands on process development/troubleshooting with any of the following – robotics/automation, additive technologies, fixture development, machining including mills and EDMs, laser applications like cladding and ablation, joining/brazing, metallic and ceramic coating, and inspection technologies.
  • Familiarity with using data analytics including, python, p-code and other computer and classical machine learning programming.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, execution, and process rigor.
  • Ability to rapidly shift priorities based on business needs.
  • Open-minded, self-motivated, and empowered to challenge thinking to dream big and take smart risks.
  • Demonstrated capability in collaborating within a team and customers to create an inclusive environment.

  • Familiar with AI and possess a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset.
  • Experience in NX or other 3D CAD models and/or design simulation packages with the ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Recent university graduate with past internship experience.
