GCP Managing Solution Architect
About the role
You're considering a role as a Senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Solution Architect at Capgemini. This role involves providing end-to-end architecture leadership for GCP solutions across enterprise programs, designing and governing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native architectures, and leading large-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end architecture leadership for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions across enterprise programs.
- Design and govern secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native architectures on GCP.
- Lead architecture and delivery across Kubernetes (GKE), microservices, DevOps/GitOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
- Define and enforce enterprise-grade cloud standards, architectures, and best practices.
- Architect and guide large-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including legacy platform transformation.
- Design and oversee GCP networking, IAM, security, encryption, and compliance architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams to ensure consistent architecture implementation.
- Support pre-sales activities, solution design, technical proposals, and customer presentations.
- Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance across DevOps and GitOps pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and automation strategies.
- Define observability strategies, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Mentor engineers and architects, influencing multiple teams across delivery programs.
- Partner with delivery, SRE, and operations teams to ensure performance, reliability, and availability targets are met.
- Own architectural outcomes and drive alignment across large, complex transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 12+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Cloud Architect, with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP core services, including compute, storage, networking, and managed services.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and GKE, including containerized microservices architectures.
- Proven experience leading enterprise cloud migrations and modernization programs.
- Strong knowledge of GCP IAM, security, encryption, networking, and governance models.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/GitOps practices.
- Strong experience with infrastructure automation, including Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience defining and implementing observability frameworks, including monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Ability to operate in customer-facing roles, including pre-sales, architecture reviews, and executive discussions.
- Strong architectural leadership skills with the ability to influence across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in relevant areas, such as Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Engineer.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies and microservices-based solutions.
- Experience with cloud migration and modernization projects.
- Experience with cloud security, compliance, and governance.
- Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with observability tools and practices.
Skills

Pay
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $88,544 to $207,401. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law. The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction. These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity. It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
