GCP Cloud Engineer

About The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer / GCP Cloud (Forward Deployed) to own the end-to-end architecture, deployment, and operational resilience of our Google Cloud Platform. In this role, you will act as both a strategic architect and a hands-on builder. You will lead the platform from Day 0 greenfield setup to production-ready infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), establish robust Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and observability practices, and deploy the foundation powering our Agentic AI Solution Platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Day 0 GCP Architecture & Setup: Establish enterprise-grade GCP landing zones from scratch, including Organization Structure, IAM, and Security controls. Design and execute core cloud networking: VPCs, Shared VPCs, Firewalls, and Private Service Connect (PSC).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Write, test, and maintain 100% automated infrastructure code using Terraform (and/or Terragrunt) for reproducible multi-environment setups. Build automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, GitLab CI) for seamless infrastructure and service deployments.
• SRE, Observability & Reliability Engineering: Establish SRE frameworks from the ground up—defining SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, runbooks, and automated incident response. Architect full-stack telemetry and observability solutions using Google Cloud Operations Suite (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, distributed tracing) along with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog. Implement custom observability for host, container, and application metrics, including dedicated tracking for LLM performance and agent latency.
• High Availability, Resiliency & Disaster Recovery: Design and implement Multi-Zone and Multi-Region architectures with Active-Active/Active-Passive deployment models. Engineer automated failover mechanisms, capacity planning, and fault-tolerant systems to meet strict RTO/RPO and Business Continuity requirements.
• Security & Identity Management: Design and enforce enterprise-grade auth frameworks, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and Zero Trust access controls. Secure service-to-service communications, API endpoints, KMS, and secrets across cloud-native and Agentic AI platforms.
• Agentic AI Platform Support & Forward Deployment: Deploy and scale cloud infrastructure specifically tuned for Agentic AI workloads (integrating Vertex AI, GKE, Cloud Run, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks). Work directly with engineering, product, and client-facing teams to translate technical requirements into scalable, reliable platform architecture.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• GCP Expertise: 6–8+ years designing, operating, and automating production environments on Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven Track Record: Proven experience leading at least 3 enterprise-scale production projects built on GCP from inception through post-launch management.
• Terraform Mastery: Deep expertise building complex GCP environments exclusively through custom Terraform modules and automated IaC pipelines.
• AI/LLM Infrastructure: Hands-on experience provisioning container orchestrators (GKE, Cloud Run) and infrastructure required for AI/ML or Agentic workloads (Vertex AI, model hosting, vector stores).
• Security & Networking: Strong grasp of GCP VPC architecture, Security Posture Management, IAM, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
• DevOps & Scripting: Proficient in Python, Bash, Docker, and modern CI/CD tools.

Certifications

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect credential preferred.
