GBM - Private - Investment Banking Associate, Industrials - Chicago
Role Responsibilities
Our Associates play an important role in developing and strengthening our client relationships, participating on our advisory teams and in structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Their responsibilities include:
- Creating and analyzing financial models
- Organizing and preparing client presentations
- Helping manage transaction processes
- Aiding in the structuring of transactions
- Gaining exposure to the firm's businesses and expanding knowledge of the investment banking industry
- Developing key analytical, communications, and marketing skills
- Working on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances
- Organizing and preparing presentations to explain industry trends, assess clients' situations, and recommend strategies to meet client goals
- Cooking up deals with teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions
- Leading due diligence processes and actively participating in the negotiations of legal documentation
- Maintaining client communication and helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' investment banking or equivalent experience
- History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
- Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
- Previous Industrials sector experience preferred

The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $150000-$215000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
