About the role
We are seeking a gastroenterology physician for inpatient coverage during the holiday period in South Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily hospital rounds
- Manage emergency department consultations
- Handle 5-10 patient consultations per day
- Perform essential gastroenterology procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD/Upper scopes, enteroscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy (ERCP experience preferred)
- Provide 24-hour shift coverage with weekend call duties, including on-call responsibilities all weekend
- Support a patient population of adults with a team of nursing staff, medical assistants, and administrative support
Requirements
- Board certification required for this locum tenens role
- Ability to perform key gastroenterology procedures
- Experience with inpatient hospital settings preferred
