Gastroenterology Physician Assistant
This position provides 8 half days of direct patient care in the Midtown ambulatory practice location, using clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills with appropriate consultation and collaboration with physicians. The role focuses on the specialty of Gastroenterology, specifically in IBD, hepatology, motility, general GI, and advanced endoscopy.
Responsibilities
- 80% Outpatient care (may include some or all of the following):
- Provide clinical follow-up support for IBD, hepatology, motility, general GI, and advanced endoscopy
- Increase access to new patients and procedures for GI physicians
- Help reduce the backlog at GI/hepatology outpatient locations
- 10% Professional Development

- 5% Research and Education
Requirements
- California Licensed Physician Assistant (PA)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification within 3 months of hire
- National PA board certification in an aligned specialty with the practice area
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR certification
- Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- One (1) year or greater experience as a physician’s assistant
- One (1) year or greater recent clinical experience in GI
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, professionals, and caretakers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Judgment skills to effectively meet patient needs
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function independently
- Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing as a billable provider
- Must be able to work and travel to primary care locations (Elk Grove, Folsom, Rocklin) if needed

Pay
Hourly salary range: $88.65–$116.97 (Salary Grade 138).
Schedule
Full-time (100%) position with a work schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. This role is 100% on-site at the Midtown Ambulatory Care Center in Sacramento, CA.
