Gastroenterology NP / PA Per Diem

About the role

Per diem Gastroenterology Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) position at Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, in Danbury, CT. The role involves seeing patients in both outpatient office and hospital settings, with a Monday–Friday schedule, weekend rotation, and no call responsibility. This position supports the growth of the Digestive Health Institute within the Northwell Health Medical Practice Gastroenterology Department. Danbury Hospital is a 371‑bed, not‑for‑profit community hospital and Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits annually, affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in outpatient gastroenterology clinic and inpatient hospital settings
• Work with hepatobiliary services
• Collaborate with the Gastroenterology Department team

Requirements

• Current Connecticut RN and APRN license or Connecticut PA license
• Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration
• Federal DEA registration
• New York State Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certification (NCCPA for PAs; equivalent national certification for NPs)
• At least one year of experience in Internal Medicine and/or Gastroenterology
• Experience working with hepatobiliary services
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs
• Board‑certified Nurse Practitioner (for NPs)
• Internal Medicine or Gastroenterology experience preferred

Pay

$75 per hour flat per diem rate.
