Gastroenterology Locums

About the role

Provide Gastroenterology services at a Level 1 Trauma hospital in Lakewood, CO. Perform procedures including scoping, ERCP, EUS, and endoscopy. Manage GI-related cases such as GI bleed and other GI problems. Handle approximately 8-10 new admissions and perform 5-8 scopes daily. Work 24-hour call shifts, including weekends, in an inpatient setting without routine admissions for GI consults. Contribute to patient care for patients aged 15 and older (≥50 kg). Utilize Epic EMR, completing training prior to start. Provide on-call coverage with support from the hospital's clinical team.

Qualifications & Skills

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active Colorado medical license (preferred) and DEA registration
• ERCP and EUS competency required
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment

Key Duties & Requirements

• Ensure credentialing within 60-90 days; emergency privileges possible in 1-2 weeks with a clean record
• Complete EMR training at least one week prior to first shift
• Participate in weekend and on-call duties as scheduled
• Prioritize local or drive-in candidates for ease of scheduling
• Stay at designated hotel properties and request pre-negotiated rates
