About the role

The Gastroenterology APP (Advanced Practice Provider) at Longmont United Hospital is a vital member of the healthcare team, delivering specialized gastroenterological care within a supportive clinic environment. The role involves providing comprehensive gastroenterology care, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, educating and advocating for patients, and maintaining meticulous documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical examinations and interpret test results
  • Develop and manage patient care plans
  • Write orders and prescriptions
  • Facilitate admissions, discharges, and specialist referrals
  • Collaborate and coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Educate and advocate for patients on health problems, treatment plans, self-care, and prevention
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in patient charts and medical records

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Two years of experience in gastroenterology highly preferred, Master’s degree in nursing as Nurse Practitioner, RN License, BLS and ACLS, Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P)
  • Physician Assistant: Masters graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, PA Certification by N.C.C.P.A., current mid-level provider license by the state of Colorado, BLS and ACLS
