About the role
Mayo Clinic Health System Gastroenterology serves approximately 600,000 unique patients annually across six locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, performing about 31,000 endoscopy procedures each year. The Mankato, Southwestern Minnesota site offers an opportunity for a board‑certified/board‑eligible gastroenterologist to join a multi‑specialty practice focused on quality, outcomes, and compassionate care. The role includes clinical, consultative, research, and teaching activities through collaboration with the Division of Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic‑Rochester. The practice emphasizes technology advancements, telehealth, digital tools, and AI to enhance patient and staff experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide gastroenterology services in a physician‑led, stable organization alongside up to five other GI physicians (a sixth joining soon) and nurse practitioners/physician assistants.
- Perform general GI care and, based on interest, pursue subspecialty areas such as motility, hepatology, and inflammatory bowel disease.
- Conduct endoscopy procedures, clinic visits, and hospital consultative services.
- Collaborate with surgical, oncology, and radiology specialists within the region and across Mayo Clinic to meet patient needs.
- Participate in collegial relationships and joint activities with gastroenterologists at Mayo Clinic sites in Rochester, Western Wisconsin, and Southern Minnesota.
- Utilize integrated EMR and imaging systems, dedicated physician workstations in procedure areas, and on‑site radiology (MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology) and infusion center.
Requirements
- Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Eligible for Minnesota state medical license.
