Gas Technician-Welder- Journey or Apprentice
Job Summary
This posting is for a Gas Technician (Welding) apprentice to be located in Beloit, WI. As a welder, this position will be involved in large tapping projects. It will also assist the Tool Crib with gas tools and tool repair. Approximately 60-70% of the core duties for this position will be responsible for the large flange tapping process. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and installing gas underground distribution systems, as well as installing electric underground cable.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Completion of the gas technician apprenticeship and pass the final position qualification examination
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Travel Requirements
Travel time from your primary residence to your assigned headquarters must be 25 minutes or less under normal driving conditions.

- Proven skill with digging tools and other modern street equipment and piping
- Ability to weld preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and teach others
- Neat appearance
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Other Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License prior to the end of trial period
