The Gas Measurement & Transportation Analyst supports gas measurement and transportation activities by monitoring gas measurement and gas quality data, identifying irregularities, and helping resolve measurement issues. This role contributes to accurate gas measurement records, timely reporting, effective coordination with internal teams, producers, pool operators, and gas marketers, and serves as backup support to Gas Control as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors historical gas measurement and gas quality readings and identifies irregularities requiring review or resolution.
  • Partners with gas measurement specialists, chart integrators, and producers to help resolve measurement issues.
  • Reviews meter tests and gas samples to support compliance with Hope Gas system operating requirements.
  • Tracks and reports imbalances with third-party producers, pool operators, and downstream transmission pipelines.
  • Reviews monthly Estimated Flowing Supply for gas marketers and works with marketers to adjust nominations to minimize imbalances.
  • Calculates and invoices pool operators for Production Gathering & Aggregation Service and Pipeline Replacement and Expansion fees.
  • Assists with monthly measurement estimates, actualizations, and scheduled system closes.
  • Supports user setup and access administration for Hope Gas’s Electronic Bulletin Board.
  • Submits informational postings through the Company’s Electronic Bulletin Board to notify internal and external users of system maintenance, outages, rate changes, and finalized production statements.
  • Trained and qualified to provide backup support to Gas Control as needed.
  • May provide guidance to less experienced staff and help coordinate team activities and project tasks to support department operations.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of natural gas gathering, transportation, and distribution processes.
  • Knowledge of gas measurement, gas quality, imbalance tracking, and related reporting concepts.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Ability to review data, identify irregularities, and support timely resolution of measurement issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, producers, pool operators, gas marketers, and customers.
  • Ability to support accurate billing, reporting, system access, and informational posting activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field and at least 5 years of experience in natural gas operations or a closely related field.
  • OR High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 9 years of experience in natural gas operations or a closely related field.

Preferred experience supporting gas measurement, imbalance tracking, or related natural gas operations or transportation activities.

Physical Requirements

  • Remain stationary for extended periods, occasionally alternating between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities.
  • Lift, push, and/or pull up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery as necessary.
  • Communicate with others to accurately exchange information and ideas.
  • Hear sufficiently to allow general and phone communications.
  • Visual acuity to read standard text on screens and documents, observe surroundings, recognize hazards, and perform tasks safely.
  • Observe details at close range.
  • Problem solve, prioritize tasks, and interpret and understand written documents.

Schedule

This is a full-time exempt salaried position.

Minimum travel for work-related purposes is expected at less than 25%, which includes some overnight visits to locations and industry events.
