GARNI Cafe Server | Part Time

Responsibilities

• Enthusiastically welcome guests into the restaurant.
• Share knowledge and recommendations of the food & beverage menus to guests.
• Utilize freedom to go beyond and take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty.
• Create memorable experiences with a welcoming personality by genuinely relating to guests and team members.
• Communicate with the culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, special dietary needs, and any other special guest requests.
• Multi-task with an impeccable eye for detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Take orders, deliver drinks, and process payments.
• Stock and organize inventory at server stations and behind the bar.
• Assist bartenders with additional tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

• Motivated, self-starting personality.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of serving experience in a similar restaurant environment.
• Open Availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences that align with FORBES standards.
• Knowledge of Menu: Ability to memorize and describe menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods.
• Physical Stamina: Able to stand for extended periods, carry heavy trays, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues in a calm and professional manner.
• Excellent multitasking, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of cocktail recipes, types of alcohol, and common alternatives for customers with allergies or special requests.
• Experience with POS and credit card systems.
• Cash handling skills.
• Flexibility.

Qualifications (continued)

• Experience. Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
• Previous experience passionately providing food and beverage service to others preferred.
• Knowledge. Alcohol service and Food Handler certifications are required.
• Familiarity with restaurant terminology and food service techniques is preferred.
• People Person. The best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.
• Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing.
