About the role

Join the team at The Quail, a highly prestigious hotel in sunny Carmel Valley, California, as a Gardener supporting our Engineering Department. This role offers the opportunity to learn and grow within a strong hospitality operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform all gardening tasks such as mowing, trimming, weed eating, edging, raking, cleaning, deadheading flowers, weeding, assisting with pool maintenance, sweeping (high and low), and adding wood chips as needed for aesthetics and maintenance.
• Schedule and creatively design plantings, beds, and pots while maintaining and cleaning all exterior lighting and fencing.
• Maintain a fertilizing schedule and spray for pests as instructed by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a gardener at a commercial facility.
• Experience with general gardening techniques, including mowing, trimming, watering, planting, soil preparation, and fertilizing.
• Knowledge of plant species and growth characteristics of a wide variety of plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers suitable to the area.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and a positive attitude.
• Ability to load, unload, and push equipment and/or carts up to 100 pounds.

Pay
