Grass Pad is hiring Part-Time and Full-Time Garden Center Associates to work at our Barry Road location. We take pride in offering a full-service experience, which includes loading products for the customer. This position has great growth potential in the company for the right person.

Responsibilities

As a Garden Center Associate, your typical day might include:

• Greeting customers at the loading dock, checking their tickets, and loading fertilizer, sod, straw, mulch, rocks, plants, and other material into customers’ vehicles.
• Guiding customer vehicles in to and out of the loading area in an efficient manner.
• Being polite, respectful, and courteous to all customers to ensure a great customer experience.
• Taking ownership of the customer loading area to keep it clean, safe, and clear of debris, and fully stocked with the appropriate products.
• Helping with store chores like cleaning, emptying trash, opening and closing procedures, and other tasks as necessary.
• Engaging in conversation with the customer during the loading process.
• Understanding our branded products and packages.
• Assisting with watering in the nursery and flower departments.
• Assisting with unloading nursery trucks and displaying nursery products.
• Referring customer questions to the appropriate staff member.

Schedule

This is a seasonal position with flexible hours. Our busy season spikes in the spring and fall, with the longest opening hours during those times. The store is open 7 days a week for most of the year. Weekend and overtime work will be required during the busy seasons.
