About the role

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., located in Charleroi, PA.

Responsibilities

• Work safely, following all company safety rules and practices.
• Service, inspect, maintain, and repair the FE fleet, which includes all types of motor vehicles, motorized equipment, and tools.
• Provide emergency road repairs, towing, ferrying, and equipment demonstration.
• Perform physical work under various conditions, including lifting and positioning heavy parts and equipment while working under vehicles or in an upright position.
• Perform general mechanical and electrical repair work on heavy trucks, cars, trailers, and field equipment.
• Work with hydraulics and hydraulic systems.
• Prepare accurate records and reports, both written and electronic.
• Perform storm restoration duties within and outside FirstEnergy Service Company service territory, which may require out-of-town stays and working extended hours any day of the week, including holidays.

Requirements

• Two years of Automotive/Diesel Mechanic trade school or five years of recent full-time experience as a fleet mechanic.
• Experience as a garage mechanic working on large vehicles, including knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods preferred.
• Class A CDL preferred; Class 7 Inspection License preferred but required after six months of employment.
• Must be willing to live within 45 minutes of the Service Center.
