Garage Mechanic - Fleet
About the Role
The Garage Mechanic position works at various locations and may require travel to another state depending on customer demands.
Responsibilities
- Manage development of equipment in cities and states within the region.
- Apply knowledge of mechanics for equipment ranging from cranes to chain saws.
- Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions.
- Troubleshoot equipment repair, maintenance, and deployment in various localities.
- Work around energized high-voltage systems with skill and care to protect lives.
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
- Perform all other related work as required to complete the job.
Requirements
- Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
- 1-5 years of experience.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must have own general tools.
- Able to learn or perform work in the following disciplines:
- Hydraulics
- Diesel/gas engine – automatic
- Chassis and suspension
- Welding/metal fabrication
- Small tool repair
- Must know or be able to learn how to use a computer for:
- Diagnostics
- Equipment Inventory management
- Work Orders
- Able to work for extended periods in various locations.
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and outside of the normal work schedule as required.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- ASE certification
- Ford or International certifications
- Altec/Telelect
- Hydraulic maintenance
- Utility or construction job experience

- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Work Environment
- Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- Work is performed in outside weather conditions.
