Garage Door Technician Apprentice, Charlotte NC
About the role
This is hands‑on mechanical work in hot garages (and freezing ones), not a sales job with some lifting. You’ll diagnose problems, fix them yourself, then talk to the homeowner like a trusted professional. We want someone who puts people first: down‑to‑earth, dependable, easy to talk to, with a strong work ethic and the grit to do physical work daily. We’ll teach you to sell.
Responsibilities
Physical work every day includes springs, cables, rollers, openers, and motors – you repair and install it all. Expect to lift 75+ lbs., bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in temperatures ranging from freezing to 100°F garages, hands‑on from the first job to the last.
Selling isn’t optional; it’s the job. No sale means no repair, no repair means no paycheck. The position is commission‑based, so every dollar you earn starts with a homeowner trusting you enough to say yes. We’ll teach you how to earn that yes; you bring the desire to close.
