Garage Assistant

About the role

As a Garage Assistant, you'll play a key supporting role in vehicle maintenance-helping with routine services, basic repairs, and shop upkeep.

From assisting mechanics to cleaning work areas and ensuring tools are ready, your work keeps the garage running smoothly and safely. It's hands-on, essential work that supports the fleet-and the mission-every day.

Responsibilities

• Support Automotive Technicians and other members of team to diagnose vehicles and perform operational checks on engines, major supporting systems, parts and components
• Perform various basic tasks to keep garage running smoothly
• Keep workspace organized and clean
• Assist others to conduct visual and auditory vehicle inspections, road calls and road tests

Requirements

• Knowledge of electrical/ignition systems
• Knowledge of automotive fuel systems
• Knowledge of automotive emission control systems
• Knowledge of engine systems
• Knowledge of automotive power train systems
• Knowledge of automotive suspension systems
• Knowledge of automotive braking systems
• Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in automotive components or systems
• Ability to use automotive test equipment
• Ability to use mechanical test equipment and hand tools
• Ability to make major and minor repairs to automotive components or systems

Qualifications
