Gang on crime spree attacks innocent young family in home with machetes and baseball bats

Detectives from Operation Eclipse have charged a man as part of their investigation into the tasking of crimes via encrypted applications targeting Melbourne licensed venues.

Detectives executed three search warrants at a residential address in Fraser Rise, a business premises in Keilor Downs, and a residential address in Port Melbourne. During the searches, they seized quantities of methylamphetamine, cocaine, and ecstasy. Additional items seized included a Porsche SUV, alleged counterfeit notes, steroids, a dagger, OC spray, two extendable batons, and multiple mobile phones.

  • Trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine
  • Attempting to traffic a handgun
  • Trafficking methylamphetamine (8 counts)
  • Committing an indictable offence whilst on bail (8 counts)

A 19-year-old Fraser Rise man, Rivin Muthucumurana, is allegedly linked to Melbourne gangland boss Kaz Hamad's crew, known as "the Commission."
