About the role
The Recreation Department at Mechanicsburg Area School District is seeking part‑time Game Support Staff. This role supports the Recreation Game Manager on game days and during on‑site practices for youth and adult sports events, ensuring a safe, organized environment for participants and spectators.
Responsibilities
- Operate the scoreboard and game clock.
- Collect admissions and manage entry of spectators.
- Assist with field or gym setup and breakdown.
- Monitor practices, admissions, and scoreboard operation.
- Monitor facilities to ensure safety and proper conduct.
- Communicate professionally with coaches, referees, players, and spectators.
- Report incidents or concerns to the recreation supervisor.
- Represent the department positively at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in sports, officiating, or facility support.
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends.
- Ability to provide required clearances: Criminal History Record Clearance, Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Act 168 forms, and a completed I‑9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
